Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) emerged champions in the All-India Under-16 Girls Rugby Tournament, defeating Jungle Crow (Kolkata) 15-0 in the final at Delhi today. According to KISS sources, the Bhubaneswar-based tribal school crushed Jharkhand 25-0 in the semifinal earlier on yesterday.
The senior rugby team of KISS reached Plate semifinals before losing to Mumbai Rhinos in an All-India Women’s Seven-a-side Tournament, which was conducted there simultaneously. KISS sources also said that three of their senior players _ Pankajini Majhi, Bhagyalaxmi Barik and Hiramani Kisku _ were selected to join the camp for Asian Games. They will also participate all international junior competitions.
